Media launch NHL project
On 27 September Young Guns Media organized the media launch of the National Health Laboratory Project. This project aims to upgrade laboratory facilities and build capacity of National Health Laboratory staff. The project is supported by the French Development Agency AFD (22 million Euro) and the EU (5 million euro). Institut Pasteur and Fondation Merieux provide technical assistance.
The result of this collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Sports will be improved ability of Myanmar to monitor and manage epidemics, which ultimately will save lives.

During the event Ambassadeur/EU Head of Delegation, Mr. Kristian Schmidt, French Ambassador Mr. Christian Lechervy, Permanent Secretary of the Minister of Health and Sports, Prof. Dr. Thet Khine Win, Chairman of the Union Peace Commission, Dr. Tin Myo Win, Chairperson of the Health and Sport Development Committee of the Phyithu Hluttaw, Dr. San Shwe Win, Yangon Region Ethnic Affairs Minister, U Zaw Aye Maung, Pyithu Hluttaw MP, Dr. Thet Thet Khaing, AFD Country Director Mrs. Marie Cecile Thirion, and Institutut Pasteur Vice-President Mr. Pierre-Marie Gerard, were present.
After the launch at the Park Royal Hotel in Yangon, the dignitaries visited the National Health Laboratory site in Yangon, where they were shown the facilities by Prof. Dr. Htay Htay Tin, the Deputy Director General of the NHL.
